Credit Union Governance

Our Credit Union is democratically controlled by the members who own the credit union. Once you become a member you are eligible to vote in VSECU elections, proposed changes to Credit Union bylaws and other business matters vital to Credit Union operations.

There is a board of directors elected by the membership that governs the direction of the VSECU.

The VSECU is subject to the rules and regulations of the Vermont Department of Banking and the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA), which govern our operations and safeguard members.

Both agencies periodically examine our operations, and each year we hire an independent accounting firm to audit the Credit Union. Plus, the VSECU is a member of both the Credit Union National Association and the Vermont Credit Union League, trade associations providing service and support.
