We're Protecting You…
Every time you use your VSECU credit card or check card.
The VSECU wants you to be able to use our products and services with confidence. That is why we have placed fraud control on the VSECU MasterCard and Visa credit cards and ATM & Visa® Check Cards.
Our sophisticated, state-of-the-art fraud detection system is designed to detect and evaluate fraudulent activity and to alert cardholders.
If a transaction made on your card appears suspect, a representative on behalf of the VSECU will contact you via telephone to verify the transaction.
Three Frequently Asked Questions About Fraud Control
1.) How does the fraud detection system work?
The fraud detection system analyzes each card purchase and compares it with card record information and past spending behavior of the cardholder. If a purchase made on your card appears to be potentially fraudulent, an authorized representative of the VSECU will contact you to verify the purchase. If you are unable to answer the call, you will receive a message with instructions to return the call.
2.) What questions will be asked?
First, the VSECU representative must establish the cardholder's identity by verifying personal information. You may be asked to confirm telephone number, address, date of birth, and social security number (only the last four digits are necessary).
Once your identity as the rightful cardholder has been established, the VSECU representative will ask you to verify the suspect purchase. If you must return a call from the VSECU representative, you will be asked to provide name, telephone number on which the message was left and account number.
3.) What questions will NEVER be asked?
The VSECU representative will NEVER ask for your card's expiration date and CVV or security code (the last three digits on the signature line on the back of the card). Requests for this information will indicate a fraudulent call.
