Member Alert
State of Vermont, Agency of Human Services
Earlier this week, the State of Vermont, Agency of Human Services, notified us that a state computer containing personal information about individuals was compromised and after conducting both an internal and external forensic analysis, the state’s investigation could not definitively conclude whether or not member information was actually compromised.
Your Credit Union, working with Agency of Human Services, has identified approximately 400 members whose information was exposed to this security breach and is in the process of notifying those members by mail.
TJX Companies, Inc.
Your Credit Union has been notified by VISA and MasterCard that some of our members’ personal information was compromised when TJX Companies, Inc., experienced an unauthorized intrusion related to cardholder data. In a statement issued by TJX, the compromised data appeared to involve customer purchases from 2003 and from the latter half of 2006. TJX owns T.J. Maxx, Marshall's, HomeGoods and A.J. Wright stores in the United States and other chains abroad.
Based upon information provided by VISA and MasterCard on accounts that may have been compromised, your Credit Union is notifying those affected members directly by mail.
As a general precaution, it is always important that you review your account information carefully and regularly. If you believe that unauthorized activity has taken place on any of your VSECU accounts or debit/credit card, report it as soon as possible by calling 802/800 371-5162 during business hours.
