Member Insurance Protection

A benefit of your membership is free and/or low cost insurance coverage to protect you and your family against different types of losses.

The coverages are different than the National Credit Union Administration federal deposit insurance which insures your deposits.

These insurance and protection services apply to you as an individual in the event of death or disability.

Credit Life Insurance - Low Cost Plan

This protection insures that your outstanding loan balances will be covered in the event of your death. Each consumer loan you have at the VSECU can be insured up to a maximum of $40,000. It removes the added burden your family could face if anything should happen to you as the primary borrower on a loan. The cost of the insurance can be included in your monthly loan payment.

Credit Disability Insurance - Low Cost Plan

This protection insures that your outstanding loan balances will be covered should you become disabled. The coverage will pay your monthly loan payments to a maximum of $1,000 per month and a total maximum of $40,000 should you become disabled due to a medically determined sickness or injury. The cost of the insurance can be included in your monthly loan payment.

Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance - Free

If you meet the insurance plan qualifications, you are eligible for our basic $5,000 no-cost AD&D insurance. You may also purchase additional insurance at a very affordable premium. Members must sign up for this free insurance coverage annually.
