VGives
VGives is the community giving program at Vermont State Employees Credit Union.
As a not-for-profit financial cooperative we subscribe to, and take pride in, the Seven Cooperative Principles shared by credit unions and other co-ops around the world. The seventh principle: Concern for Community, is what VGives is all about. While our main purpose is to focus on the needs of our member owners, we also support the sustainable development of communities and initiatives that bring a greater benefit to people in Vermont.
Each year a budgeted amount of our operational expenses is set aside to fund our giving and donations. The amount requested can vary greatly and approved contributions support a diverse nature ranging from environmental goals to educational, health, civic or arts-related purposes. In some instances our Board of Directors may proactively identify and seek charitable benefactors to fill a gap or support an immediate crisis.
