A Design Competition to Reduce Carbon Emissions in Vermont’s Capital

Net Zero Vermont Design Competition

VSECU is sponsoring Net Zero Vermont’s Sustainable Montpelier 2030 Design Competition. Registration is underway for the challenge, which was designed to spur creative solutions that could help reduce carbon emissions in Montpelier to net zero by 2030. It is an aggressive goal that, if accomplished, will go a long way toward supporting Vermont’s goal of reducing our "total “energy consumption per capita by 15% by 2025, and by more than one third by 2050,” as put forth by the Vermont Department of Public Service.

The competition challenges visionary design firms to propose a sustainable design for a Net Zero capital city. Registration opened on July 13 and will remain open until midnight of August 19 for qualified firms that want to help propel Montpelier into a more sustainable future.
