Effective July 1, 2010 you may be eligible to receive rebates for ATM surcharges at any ATM used within the United States. Read below for details.
For the past ten years we have had an agreement with the Chittenden Bank, now a Division of People’s United Bank, in which VSECU paid a fee so that our members would not be surcharged when using a Chittenden ATM. We received notice from Chittenden Bank that they are exercising their right to terminate this agreement with us effective July 5, 2010. This means that if you use a Chittenden ATM after July 5, the bank will now assess a Surcharge Fee for your use of the ATM.
Surcharge rebates become available July 1, 2010
Naturally, we’re disappointed to lose this arrangement, but it does allow us the opportunity to revisit how best to afford ATM access for our entire membership. Effective July 1, 2010, members will be eligible to receive rebates from VSECU for Surcharge Fees imposed by any other ATM owner inside the United States! This approach means that every ATM in Vermont, and throughout the U.S., can be a surcharge-free ATM depending on your overall member relationship with VSECU and frequency of ATM use!
|Member Reward Level||ATM Surcharge Rebates|
|Advantage||Up to $4.00 per month|
|Advantage Plus||Up to $8.00 per month|
Additionally, we still belong to the CO-OP ATM network, which always gives you access to surcharge-free ATMs in the U.S., regardless of your membership level at VSECU. See our ATM/Branch locator for information about these locations.
