National Credit Union Youth Week

Teaching kids how to manage money through responsible savings.

VSECU teams up with credit unions across the country every year in support of National Credit Union Youth Week. During this week of awareness, April 20-26, kids are encouraged to set up savings accounts and learn responsible money management in a controlled environment – a lesson that will last a lifetime.

This year’s theme for Youth Week is Catch the $ave Wave™. Just in time to start thinking about vacations on the beach and summer jobs, we encourage kids to put some of their new income away for college, rainy days, and the rest of their financial future.

Any youth member (17 and under) who makes a deposit during the month of April will automatically be entered to win one of 8 beach prize packages containing all the essential items for a summer day by the water. Throughout Youth Week we’ll have fun giveaways for kids at all our branch locations.

Liberty Mutual representatives will be at the Berlin and Burlington branches on Tuesday; Montpelier and Rutland on Wednesday; Williston and Brattleboro on Thursday; and at the St. Johnsbury branch on Friday. They will have a dolphin ring toss game and fun prizes for kids, as well as summer safety tips for parents. Visit our Liberty Mutual page to learn more about how you can save on auto and home insurance.

During this week we focus specifically on kids, offering insight, while keeping it light enough for any age to follow. And with our mobile and online banking offerings making it even easier to stay on top of finances, your kids can help you learn a thing or two about simplifying your banking. Stop in one of our branches or call 802-371-5162 to see how you can start your kids saving towards their financial future and learning about responsible money management.

The beach prize package winners will be announced by May 9, 2014. VSECU employees, volunteers and immediate family members are not eligible to win.
