VSECU Employees Raise Over $2,800 for the American Lung Association

Six VSECU Employees joined a total of 111 community members to climb the steps of the Bennington Battle Monument on Saturday, June 11 in an effort to raise money for the New England chapter of the American Lung Association. Altogether, the climbers raised $22,849.45, with VSECU contributing $2,883.00.

The Bennington Battle Monument is a 306-foot tall monument with 412 iron steps and is described as the state’s tallest man-made structure. According to Simeon Chapin, VSECU’s director of community and social development, “the climb was great,” though he felt the effort in his quads by the end. Those who made the climb included athletes, business and educational teams, and fire and rescue personnel.
