VSECU is pleased to help a number of young people from low-income families in Rutland County enjoy the summer camp experience at the Boys & Girls Club of Rutland County. VSECU’s $2,500 donation will help fund scholarships for boys and girls ages 6-18 for the 2010 Kidventure Camp, eight weeks of swimming, games, hiking, arts and crafts and more. Through team building and lessons in sportsmanship, campers will learn how to make healthy decisions and build self-esteem. In addition, campers will take field trips to explore areas outside of Rutland, such as Vermont’s state parks, museums and farms, places that they otherwise may not have an opportunity to visit.
Kidventure campers will go on “top secret” missions where each week is dedicated to a special mission with titles such as “Finding Champ” and “Everybody’s Kung Fu Camping.” For more information on Kidventure Camp and other programs at the Boys & Girls Club of Rutland County, please visit www.rutlandbgclub.org or call 802-747-4944.
