VSECU was pleased to sponsor the luncheon at the Montpelier Elks Club on May 7 honoring Vermont state employees for their outstanding service. The luncheon was a part of the celebration during this year’s State of Vermont Public Service Recognition Week May 6-12. The honored employees, their family members as well as the supervisors who nominated them enjoyed a delicious buffet catered by Le Petit Gourmet.

Gov. Peter Shumlin made opening remarks to begin the recognition ceremony, focusing on the great job Vermont’s state employees do every day but noting the special challenges brought on by the onslaught of Tropical Storm Irene in late summer 2011. Following the governor’s remarks, Secretary of Administration Jeb Spaulding and Commissioner of the Department of Human Resources Kate G. Duffy awarded certificates of recognition to 18 individuals and 20 teams.
