Vermont’s “Wheels for Warmth” broke all records in its 11th year. Wheels for Warmth is a tire recycling program that raises money through donated tires to generate funding for emergency fuel assistance in Vermont. Final numbers for 2015 indicate that the program collected a total of $55,801 for emergency fuel assistance programs, sold 2,200 safe tires, and recycled 3,775 donated, unusable tires.
The record success was due in large part to the program’s expansion to Rutland county, made possible by local support in that community from new sponsor VSECU.
